Week 2

LookDev

I went ahead and made a list of roughly all the materials we will need. That list includes:

  • Rubber

  • Plastic

  • Car Paint

    • Clear coat

    • Base paint

    • Metallic flake

  • Chrome

  • Various metals

    • Car hubcaps

    • Maybe flagpole (might be wood)

  • Glass

  • Ceramic 

    • glossy/matte

  • Wood

  • Fabric

Assets

We went ahead and sourced our Mercedes EQS Sedan 2023 model, which my team member Phirada kindly UV’d. My other team member Thalia also found someone to rig it for us.

I also bought a model almost identical to this one. The original listing on cgtrader is gone it looks like but if there are any differences they won’t be noticed most likely.


Previs

This is our most recent revision of our previs. Most of the updates were just updating the layout, getting more sourced assets included, and some light animations to give a better idea of timing.

We have all decided on a total of 5 shots with the last one being the big reveal that the car is a model car and the environment is a display case.

So to accomplish this we will have two separate environments. The first will include the car at a life sized scale and everything in the environment is scaled up to tower over is and give the impression its miniature. The second will be scaled down and be what’s revealed to be the display case at the end.


This week my team has been working to further refine the story for our project. I have also been tasked with working out our pipeline.
